01 · SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Evacuation & Exposure Limits
- Evacuate the protected space immediately on alarm activation.
- Do not exceed 9% concentration exposure or 5 minutes duration.
- Avoid skin contact with discharge to prevent frostbite.
- Ventilate thoroughly if pungent decomposition odours are present.
- Do not re-enter before ventilation is confirmed complete.
- Wear appropriate PPE when handling discharged components.
02 · RESTRICTIONS
Chemical & Metal Restrictions
HFC-227ea must NOT be used on:
- Reactive metals: lithium, magnesium, titanium, zirconium
- Metal hydrides of any form
- Self-oxidizing chemicals such as gunpowder and cellulose nitrate
03 · RE-ENTRY
Post-Discharge Re-Entry
- Ensure complete ventilation after extinguishment.
- Take special care with chemicals undergoing autothermal decomposition (organic peroxides, hydrazine).
- Confirm ventilation with a supervisor before re-entry.
- Monitor for decomposition odours during clearance.
- Log the incident and system state before reset.
